About Wokingham Photography Club
About Us
The one thing that brings us together as a club, whatever our individual skills or interests, is our collective passion for photography. For many years we were known as the Wokingham & East Berkshire Camera Club. In 2023 we changed our name to Wokingham Photography Club. We did this because we recognised that the Camera Club world was changing.
It was no longer necessary to know all about the ins and outs of cameras and lenses (although some of our members do!). First digital cameras and then smart phones have changed the nature and accessibility of photography. We’ve embraced this new world and so too has our membership.
From September to June each year we have a full programme of almost weekly evenings and events to suit everyone’s interest, such as talks from leading external photographers on Travel / Street Photography, the use of Smart Phones, the arrival of AI and many other topics of interest.
We run competitions for all levels of participant; individual photographers showcase their portfolios and talk about their photographic journeys. We have special interest groups such as Macro and Portrait/Studio which are open to all members. We also have several social events each year which allow members to get to know each other better and share their passion for photography.
If you’re someone who is looking to develop your interest in photography, whatever your age or level of experience, why not come and meet us one evening. You’ll find us very friendly, and we’d love to see you.
